Flair Airlines has announced a new strategic partnership with global payments provider Elavon, a move that the Edmonton-based carrier says will help fuel its next phase of growth and reinforce its position as a challenger in Canada’s aviation sector.
The agreement brings Elavon’s advanced payment processing capabilities to Flair’s operations, giving the airline improved transaction security, greater financial resilience, and the ability to scale more efficiently. For Flair, which has built its brand around reliable and affordable travel, the payment partnership represents a critical piece of its long-term strategy to compete in a market dominated by Air Canada and WestJet.
“As Flair continues to strengthen and grow, our partnership with Elavon reflects the next phase of our transformation,” said Maciej Wilk, CEO of Flair Airlines. “Through Flair FWD, we’re building a smarter, simpler, and more resilient airline, one that delivers real value to Canadians. Elavon’s expertise supports our vision to make reliable, affordable travel both possible and sustainable for the long term.”
Elavon, a subsidiary of U.S. Bank, processes payments for millions of merchants worldwide and is one of the largest aviation and travel payments providers globally. CEO Jamie Walker said the company sees Flair as an important new partner in a sector that is rapidly evolving.
“At Elavon, we’re thrilled to work with Flair Airlines at this exciting stage of their growth,” Walker said. “Flair is redefining Canadian aviation, focusing on affordability and customer choice. This partnership goes beyond payment processing; it’s about supporting an essential player in Canadian air travel as they grow. We’re proud to be part of Flair’s journey.”
The announcement also underscores Flair’s ongoing efforts to strengthen vendor relationships and boost confidence among financial partners, following a year of operational improvements and renewed focus on reliability. The company says the financial industry’s trust—signaled by Elavon’s backing—is further validation that Flair is delivering real results for travellers and building toward long-term stability.
For Canadians, the airline says the partnership ultimately supports its core mission: keeping air travel affordable and accessible across the country.
