Fintechwerx Software Services Working with BCIT to Upskill Students on AI Tech

March 23, 2026 by Knowlton Thomas Leave a Comment

Fintechwerx International Software Services announced this month that it is collaborating with the British Columbia Institute of Technology on its Business Information Technology Management program.

The publicly traded Fintechwerx is a financial technology company delivering automated onboarding, identity verification, payment solutions, trust and compliance tools, and data management services under one unified architecture.

The Vancouver-based fintech upstart will collab with BCIT’s BITMAN program through 10-week placements for two groups of four student business analysts.

BITMAN prepares students to lead at the intersection of business and technology through hands-on, industry-driven learning that teaches skills in AI management, data analytics, enterprise systems, and digital strategy.

Guided by two faculty members, participants will conduct gap analysis, identify potential opportunities, and make recommendations on the alignment of technology, process, and people.

The focus of the project will be the use of predictive analytics to drive smarter, data-driven financial decision-making, according to Fintechwerx cofounder and chief executive officer George Hofsink.

“This agreement is a perfect fit between buttressing our efforts to broaden our platform’s AI capabilities and offering students real-world experiences within a technology business environment,” he says.

Tanner Brine, Program Head and Consulting Project Coordinator for BCIT, posits that FintechWerx “is an ideal partner to provide exposure to a range of subjects and scenarios that straddle much of BITMAN’s core curriculum centred on AI, data analysis, and enterprise systems.”

FintechWerx was founded in 2022 by Hofsink alongside Francisco Kent Carasquero and went public in 2023. Shares in the startup have been volatile, with the stock up over 100% in the past year following major ups and downs.
