Thirty of the best fintech and AI startups participated in a Pitch Battle yesterday at the fourth annual Canadian Fintech 3.0 Summit in Toronto with a chance to win an investment prize of over $100,000.
Selected startups presented in one of three categories: The Future of Payments, The Future of Fintech and AI or The Future of Retail.
Each startup had 8 minutes to pitch their fintech or AI business, innovation or idea followed by a Q&A session with judges.
Payment Rails won The Future of Payments category sponsored by Visa Canada and has been invited to a private networking dinner where they can rub shoulders with top Visa executives and other payment industry leaders.
Owl Labs ran away with The Future of Fintech and AI category and will now compete for a chance to win an investment prize of over $100,000 this afternoon.
The Future of Retail category, co-hosted by Cadillac Fairview, had a tie for first place with Mobify and Chatter Research acknowledged for simplifying the shopper journey by bridging the digital and physical experience.
The investment prize money of $100,000 is open to all startups presenting in all three Pitch Battle categories, however, only one startup company will be awarded the investment prize.
