Alberta Fintech Recognized Among Canada’s Fastest-Growing Firms

March 30, 2023 by Knowlton Thomas Leave a Comment

A study last year showed the average Canadian household debt remains near record high levels, which is why Calgary-based financial technology startup Consumer Genius launched Juggling Debt in 2022.

The Canadian firm also expanded on its fintech portfolio with the launch of Canadian Life Rates and Loanz.ca, two platforms providing specialized online financial services to Canadian consumers.

Life insurance is essential for those who want to prepare for unexpected events, says Consumer Genius. And debt relief can also prove critical. Combined with Juggling Debt, Consumer Genius believes it provides one ecosystem for rapid digital access to financial services.

“Consumers can go to any one of the Consumer Genius Platforms and fill out a few questions,” the company explained last year. From there, a proprietary algorithm recommends the best course of action for that consumer and puts them in touch with an expert.

Overall, the founders of Consumer Genius describe the company as a “technology-driven consumer acquisition company that focuses on acquiring customers for our partners three ways; lead forms, rate tables and comparison websites.”

Founded in 2015, Consumer Genius is still gaining steam in 2023. The company was recently recognized by the Financial Times in their list of “The Americas’ Fastest Growing Companies,” which is composed of enterprises that contribute heavily to economic growth.

“Our mission at Consumer Genius is help consumers make better informed decisions on the products and services they need,” the company states online. “We operate in every major vertical from personal finance such as mortgage, auto loans, and insurance.”

By targeting the right consumers at the point in their journey where they want to make a final decision, “we are able to delivery high quality consumers to our brand partners every single time,” Consumer Genius claims. “Our brands simplify the decision-making process and deliver a strong ROI for our partners.”

Consumer Genius ranked near Calgary-based Field Safe Solutions, placing 41st on the list, and making it into the top 10 for both software technology firms and among Canadian companies.

In January, the company was nominated by the Canadian National Business Awards for the Top Business of the Year Award 2022, presented by Google.

“Consumers need accurate information and knowledge at their fingertips in this day and age and are becoming accustomed through the use of technology to make quick and accurate decisions when it comes to applying for a product or signing down for a particular service,” stated Paul Hadzoglou, the company’s President, at the time.

“We look forward to continuing expansion of our brands in order to continually expand our reach, with a focus to aid consumers in making quick, easy informed decisions when searching online for the product or services they are interested in,” he added.
