Mycroft Emerges from Stealth with $3.5 Million to Reinvent Fintech Security

September 22, 2025 by Fintech Newsdesk Leave a Comment

Toronto’s Mycroft, an agentic AI platform designed to act as a Security and Compliance Officer, has officially launched from stealth with USD $3.5 million in funding.

The round was led by Luge Capital, with participation from Brightspark Ventures and Graphite Ventures, alongside existing backers Ripple Ventures, Developer Capital, Antler, BoxOne Ventures, and several strategic angels.

The funding will accelerate product development and extend Mycroft’s AI-powered operations to a broader customer base—particularly among fast-scaling fintechs.

Security and compliance at startups have traditionally relied on scattered tools, spreadsheets, and expensive manual processes. Mycroft aims to simplify this landscape by delivering a single AI-powered agent that continuously monitors infrastructure, secures devices, enforces policies, manages incidents, and prepares companies for audits.

“Mycroft’s AI agents don’t just automate tasks, they elevate the way teams operate,” said Mike Kim, Co-founder and CEO of Mycroft. “Our goal is to give every company access to enterprise-grade security without needing a massive security team. Security shouldn’t be a burden—it should be a superpower.”

Within its first six months, Mycroft has signed more than 50 customers, including fintech innovators such as Levr, Paidiem, Wisedocs, Cascade Debt, Brio Platform, and Yield Exchange, alongside other high-growth startups like Superwhisper, CoVet, Unified, Willful, and Weave (YC25).

For fintechs, where sensitive data, regulatory pressure, and investor scrutiny are constants, Mycroft provides a way to stay secure and audit-ready while scaling quickly. The company positions itself as a virtual CISO, GRC expert, and IT ops team combined—always on, always learning, and embedded in day-to-day workflows.

Luge Capital’s Karim Gillani emphasized the growing importance of Mycroft’s approach. “Security and compliance have evolved from manual back-office functions to front-line priorities that can shape customer experiences and brand reputation,” Gillani said. “Mycroft’s AI Security and Compliance Officer is the teammate that every company needs in order to stay safe.”

With fresh funding, Mycroft plans to expand its AI-driven platform and continue building momentum among Canada’s fintech leaders and beyond.
