Helcim and PatientSERV Partner to Revolutionize Out-of-Pocket Payment Collection for Canadian Healthcare Providers

November 4, 2024 by Robert Lewis Leave a Comment

Two Canadian tech innovators, Calgary-based Helcim and Toronto-based PatientSERV, have partnered to make payment collection simpler and more efficient for healthcare providers.

Helcim’s Smart Terminal API now integrates seamlessly with PatientSERV’s platform, providing an accessible, secure, and cyber-insured payment solution for physicians across Canada.

“We’re committed to making payments easier for the healthcare sector,” says Helcim CEO Nic Beique. “Our collaboration with PatientSERV means physicians can focus more on care, with fewer administrative burdens around billing.”

PatientSERV, promoted by the Ontario Medical Association, delivers real-time access to secure payment options for patients, supporting both in-office and remote payments.

“PatientSERV provides unmatched convenience, security, and financial benefits to physicians in Ontario in the collection of payment for services not covered by OHIP,” says Brian Moyer, General Manager at PatientSERV. “Having previously worked with other providers, the experience we’ve had with the Helcim Team and their Smart Terminal has been a breath of fresh air.”

For Ontario physicians, PatientSERV’s platform can bring an income increase of up to 10%, filling gaps left by insurance coverage and making payment collection simpler and more effective.

This partnership is an example of how Canadian fintech companies are driving transformation in the healthcare sector, bridging the gap between healthcare and payment solutions.
