TD Launches AI Prism to Power Predictive Banking at Scale

June 11, 2025 by Fintech Newsdesk Leave a Comment

TD Bank Group has unveiled TD AI Prism, a proprietary artificial intelligence foundation model designed to reshape how the bank predicts customer needs and delivers personalized experiences.

Built entirely in-house, TD AI Prism integrates large-scale AI capabilities with secure, cloud-based banking data. The model will enable TD to move from siloed analytics to a unified approach that can anticipate a broad range of customer behaviors, drive personalized communications, and accelerate product delivery across the organization.

“In today’s fast-paced world, the ability to better understand our customers and anticipate their changing needs is more important than ever,” said Christine Morris, Senior Executive Vice President, Transformation, Enablement and Customer Experience. “TD AI Prism will help empower us to not only stay ahead of what our customers need but also better protect the bank by turning data into actionable insights.”

Unlike traditional models that are narrowly focused, TD AI Prism operates as a single predictive engine, processing up to 100 times more data variables to understand customer relationships and preferences. The bank plans to begin deploying the model to personalize marketing communications this year.

The initiative builds on years of AI research at TD’s Layer 6 innovation centre and follows the bank’s large-scale migration to a secure cloud platform in 2023. That migration laid the foundation for scalable, privacy-respecting AI solutions that can operate across TD’s vast datasets without compromising customer confidentiality.

“TD AI Prism represents a significant leap forward for TD and will help transform the way we do predictive AI,” said Vlad Shpilsky, Senior Executive Vice President, TD Bank Group. “The data migration paved the way to making it easier to access data at scale, which is a key to driving TD AI Prism and giving us access to opportunities and insights we’ve never had before.”

Key benefits of the new system include:

  • Hyper-personalization: Real-time insight into customer needs using significantly more data points than previous models.
  • Speed and scalability: A single model architecture replaces numerous smaller models, delivering faster and more cost-effective predictions.
  • Built-in privacy: Customer data remains on TD’s secure cloud, ensuring compliance with internal and regulatory standards.

TD AI Prism is part of TD Invent, the bank’s strategic innovation initiative. As financial institutions race to embed AI into their operations, TD’s latest advancement signals a broader industry shift toward AI-powered decision-making that is both scalable and secure.

For Canada’s fintech sector, TD’s move underscores how foundational AI models are becoming critical infrastructure—not just for digital startups, but for incumbents intent on future-proofing their customer experience.
