Calgary-based Chata.ai has raised US$10 million in Series A funding to scale its conversational analytics platform for financial services, as institutions seek more reliable and auditable alternatives to probabilistic AI systems.
The round was led by 7RIDGE, with participation from Izou Partners. The capital will support Chata.ai’s expansion into traditional finance, decentralized finance (DeFi), and wealthtech, along with continued product development.
Chata.ai enables financial professionals to access and monitor data using natural language, allowing users to bypass static dashboards and reduce dependence on technical teams for routine analysis and reporting. Queries can also be transformed into automated AI workers that continuously track data and generate insights.
A key differentiator is the company’s deterministic AI architecture, which infers directly on CPUs rather than relying on probabilistic, GPU-intensive models. This design delivers consistent, repeatable query results—addressing data integrity and “hallucination” risks that remain a major barrier to AI adoption in regulated financial environments—while significantly lowering infrastructure costs.
“We are entering an era where precision is the only currency that matters,” said Kelly Cherniwchan, founder and CEO of Chata Technologies Inc. “Financial professionals and developers can’t rely on ‘likely’ answers. With this Series A, we’re scaling a platform that serves as a trusted source of truth for both humans and AI agents, without the need for massive GPU clusters.”
As financial institutions balance automation with regulatory compliance, auditability, and cost efficiency, Chata.ai is positioning itself as infrastructure that allows AI systems to operate on deterministic, verifiable data—rather than opaque models alone.
