Wealthsimple Valued At $5 Billion After Drake & Ryan Reynolds Invest

Wealthsimple has landed the largest private tech investment in Canadian history with Meritech and Greylock leading a $750 million investment round. The massive round gives Wealthsimple a valuation of $5 billion.

The round included a number of best-in-class investors as well as Canadian actors Ryan Reynolds and Michael J. Fox, athletes Kelly Olynyk, Dwight Powell, and Patrick Marleau, and Degassi’s Drake.

Wealthsimple was launched seven years ago with a mission to use technology and innovation to revolutionize the finance industry so every Canadian could achieve financial freedom, no matter who they are or how much money they have.
