Global fintech giant Adyen has struck a new partnership with Shopify to strengthen ecommerce capabilities, simplify the customer journey and solve payment complexity for enterprise merchants.
As a preferred enterprise payments partner for Shopify, Adyen will provide large-scale customers the agility to succeed in the fast-moving ecommerce industry
As part of a multi-year partner strategy, Adyen is powering Shopify’s expansion into the enterprise segment by supporting diversified commerce solutions for large-scale merchants around the globe to maximize revenue and scale faster.
Adyen’s single platform creates integrated global and agile payment solutions, so merchants can easily provide the best, long-term customer experience without added operational complexity or resource constraints.
Adyen’s payment app on the Shopify Payment Partner Platform is expected to be available later this year and enterprise merchants can expect a more flexible approach to their payments experience.
“Adyen’s partnership with Shopify will position their enterprise merchants to scale quickly for success since our global ecommerce payment solutions are engineered for creating seamless payment journeys,” said Roelant Prins, Chief Commercial Officer of Adyen.
“Our platform is built for enterprise, no matter the scale. Our technology will help Shopify enterprise merchants grow their businesses with the agility and flexibility needed for long term success.”
In the future when enterprise merchants set up the components of their Shopify platform, they will be able to integrate Adyen as a payments provider.
Adyen’s payment app is pre-built, optimizing a seamless experience for the Shopify enterprise end user. Ultimately, this removes the burden on the system integrators, allowing large businesses to accept and process payments as quickly as possible, by eliminating previous payment hurdles.
The first phase of the integration with Shopify will include a payments app that will support major cards plus wallets, such as Apple Pay and Google Pay, and will be followed up by support for local payment methods (LPMs) in early 2024.
“We recognize now we have the opportunity to enter into the enterprise segment and we’re ready to offer something unique – a centralized solution in a single platform,” said Kaz Nejatian, Chief Operating Officer of Shopify.
“Adyen is a preferred enterprise payment partner for Shopify as they have extensive experience, expertise and solutions that meet the unique needs of global, modern, large-scale merchants. This makes them the right choice for us, and more importantly, for our enterprise customers.”
