The Canada FinTech Forum returns in September for a thirteenth round.
The annual affair will take place at the Fairmont The Queen Elizabeth in Montréal, where fintechs, investors, and policymakers will gather to explore the trends redefining financial services.
Together, they will position Canada on the global fintech stage and turn these signals into concrete business opportunities, according to organizers of the country’s largest fintech event.
Speakers this year include Tess Bloch, cofounder of Spade, as well as Michael Denham, executive vice-president of the National Bank of Canada.
Another “Big Bank” speaker is Maksims Volkovs, who serves TD as chief AI scientist. Peter Zaffino, chief executive officer of AIG, will also be speaking.
The two-day Forum features themes: On the first day, it’s all about Embedded & Open Finance. Come day two, the theme shifts to Enterprise Infrastructure & AI.
On the first day, one standout session appears to be “From Real-time Rails to Stablecoins: The Future of the Canadian Payment Ecosystem.” Experts from Wealthsimple and Visa will discuss how Canada’s payment ecosystem is entering a modernization phase as real-time infrastructure and new forms of digital money reshape how value moves across the economy.
On day two, many will likely be interested in “AI Decision-Making in Finance: Building Trust, Control, and Accountability.”
The session orients around a central challenge: how financial institutions can make AI-driven decisions transparent and accountable enough to earn trust across the organization.
There is currently an event discount available for fintech startups.
