Toronto-based Borderless AI has acquired CaymanEmployment.com, giving the global payroll platform a direct operating presence in the Cayman Islands.
The acquisition brings Cayman Employment’s local employment, work permit and immigration services into the Borderless AI platform. The company says the combination creates the first fully integrated Employer of Record solution in the Cayman Islands, bringing employment, payroll, immigration, banking, benefits and compliance together through one provider.
Companies hiring in the Cayman Islands have traditionally had to coordinate among multiple local partners to handle those functions. Borderless AI says its new offering removes many of those handoffs and allows businesses to hire locally without establishing their own Cayman entity.
As an Employer of Record, Borderless AI legally employs workers on behalf of its customers while managing payroll, taxes, benefits and local employment requirements.
Borderless AI will directly own and operate the local entity, licences, banking relationships and employment infrastructure supporting the Cayman service. Its offering also includes local labour law compliance, work permits, immigration assistance and health benefits with dependent coverage.

The expansion comes as the Cayman Islands attract a growing number of founders, executives and technology professionals building businesses internationally. The jurisdiction is also an established destination for investment funds, insurers and financial services firms, creating demand for local employment, banking and immigration infrastructure.
Cross said bringing these services directly into the platform can reduce the delays and administrative complexity associated with conventional EOR networks that rely on third-party providers in each market.
The acquisition advances Borderless AI’s strategy of establishing direct operations in important international markets. The company says owning more of the underlying infrastructure gives customers greater control and more consistent service as they expand globally.
Borderless AI helps companies onboard, pay and manage workers in more than 170 countries. Its customers include companies across fintech, SaaS, cryptocurrency and consumer markets.
The Cayman expansion builds on a series of moves to broaden the company’s global payroll capabilities. Earlier this year, Fintech.ca reported that Borderless AI had integrated its EOR services with ADP Workforce Now in Canada and the United States.
The company subsequently introduced Crypto-Native Payroll, allowing employees to allocate part of their pay directly to cryptocurrency before funds reach their bank accounts.
With Cayman Employment now inside its platform, Borderless AI is extending that model beyond payroll technology to include the local infrastructure companies need to employ and support workers in a complex international market.
