Building upon last year’s successful event, the annual Canada Fintech Forum returns again for a 2025 edition on September 22 and 23.
The Canada Fintech Forum is described by organizers as a “landmark international gathering” that aims to showcase emerging global trends and new technology solutions for the financial industry.
The annual Forum, hosted by Finance Montréal and presented by Portage, also seeks to facilitate networking and collaboration between financial institutions, technology providers, startups, and other key players inside and adjacent to the sector.
New this year for the Forum are three “strategy-focused” workshops oriented around the responsible use of AI in finance.
Through these workshops, experts will share real-world case studies and strategic approaches to inform the financial community on business opportunities linked to emerging technologies as well as best practices in governance and ethics.
The 2025 list of speakers at the Fintech Forum features many names behind companies covered on Fintech.ca.
This list includes KOHO founder Daniel Eberhard as well as Nesto cofounder Malik Yacoubi, in addition to leaders from major institutions like Scotiabank, Sun Life, and the National Bank of Canada.
Speakers last year included Shopify’s Harley Finkelstein, Wealthsimple’s Hanna Zaidi, and Lightspeed’s Dax Dasilva.
With a theme of “Navigating the Next Era of Innovation,” the 2025 Fintech Forum will take place at the Fairmont The Queen Elizabeth on René-Lévesque Boulevard West in Montreal, dawn till dusk Monday through Tuesday.
In addition to the annual Forum, Finance Montreal also operates the Montreal Fintech Station.
Station Fintech is a physical space located in the heart of the city at 4 Place Ville-Marie that was launched with a mission to help local startups grow via a range of specialized services and technological support designed for entrepreneurs.
